Cranchi’s largest flybridge model, the 48 Atlantique reflects this company’s reputation for quality engineering and attention to detail. Gracefully styled and projecting a classic Mediterranean profile, the Atlantique rides on a solid fiberglass deep-V hull with narrow beam and prop pockets to reduce draft. Her elegant three-stateroom floorplan is arranged with the owner’s cabin at the bow and two guest staterooms aft, one with twin berths and the other with an angled double berth. On the main deck, the galley is forward in the salon, opposite the helm, which is elevated to improve visibility. A posh semicircular leather sofa dominates the salon, and the interior joinery is solid cherry, lacquered to a beautiful high-gloss finish. In the cockpit, an L-shaped settee in the corner provides comfortable seating, and a hatch in the teak sole opens to a huge lazarette large enough to be finished out as crew quarters. A bridge overhang shades most of the cockpit, and wide side decks lead to the bow and its foredeck sun pad. The engine room, reached from either the salon or the cockpit, is unusually spacious for a European boat.
